I have began to install the upgrade per the instruction in the email announcement. Is it supposed to be asking me for the certificate questions and such since this is an upgrade? I am a little concerned that my existing ispconfig installation is being completely rewritten...
Patch from 2.2.4 to 2.2.5 ? Hi, I have just installed ISPConfig 2.2.4, and I don't want to spend 40 other minutes reinstalling , I want to khow if there is a manual pach to apply on 2.2.4 as th problem is only in one function Tnx, and keep going
I'm mentally preparing to update my ISPConfig install to 2.2.5 but I have another question. One of the changes for 2.2.4 is that the document root now is aligned with the distro used. I remember that I had to use the "expert" mode in the initial install only to change thisfrom /home/www to /var/www (I'm an Ubuntu user). So, will I have to select the "expert" mode for the update or will it automatically pick up on this?
You can not select any mode when you update, the updates reads the settings of the previous install automatically. You only ahve to accept the license and then later enter the details for the SSL certificate.
Excellent! And since I've done the other stuff that's recommended (backup wise) I guess that I'll start the update in a little bit Which prompts a new, related question: what's the update process going to look like (or what are your plans) for updatinmg to version 3.x? Are you plannig on keeping it as user friendly or will it be a reinstall?
Update the VMWare Image of ISPConfig Hello, I have updated the VMWare Image of ISPCOnfig to 2.2.5. Everything went fine. The only problem is that I now have to enter the pass phrase of the certificates. Can I automate this, or did I made a mistake at the certificate questions of the update?
I guess you made the erro in the last two questions of the certficate stuff, where you could define that passphrase. In the Installhowto it is explicitly mentioned to leave that out in case of no automate (re)start will be possible. So you should just regenerate your certs and everything is fine...
You can regenerate your certificates as described here: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121
