I require ipv6 capable hosts on Xen. I have followed the HOWTO perfectly and have included the line specifying the ipv6 capabilities. However when i create a host, the ipv6 address does not appear. When i attempt a modprobe ipv6 i get FATAL: Module ipv6 not found. Is it possible to have ipv6 enabled on Xen? I am using the 3.0.1 binary install and my kernel is 2.6.12.6-xenU. As i said i have followed the tutorial to the T and still no joy. Any help would be greatly appreciated as googling has done nothing for me!
okay, i have taken the 3.0.2 version of Xen which comes with the 2.6.16 kernel and it has ipv6 support built into it. The Xen box which i am running has a lot of applications on it and several require ipv6 connectivity, how would i go about getting these 2.6.12 kernel's ipv6 enabled without losing the data i have? Is it possible to upgrade the kernel to the .16 version?
Okay i kind of guessed that but is there no way to get the existing Xen setup of 3.0.1 which comes packaged with the .12 kernel to successfully run ipv6??
No problem, I will just have to go for the upgrade so! Thanks for replying nonetheless, much appreciated as always.
