Hello, I want to upgrade a multiple server ISPConfig environment (1 CP, 2 Mail, 2 DNS, 2 mySQL and several Apache servers) from 3.0 to 3.1. In the past, the upgrade "lost" the DKIM patch. Are there any issues that I should be aware of before upgrading ISPconfig? Also, I am a little confused on when to reply 'Yes' or 'No' to the upgrade questions like "Reconfigure", etc. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.
We are in the same boat. There are few posts and guides about the process but still not clear. Here is the stage: Multiserver - all running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS ISPConfig - ISPConfig 3.0.5.4p8 The question is is - in what order should be the upgrade performed? 1. Upgrade OS to 16.04 (and components) 2. Upgrade first the master node 3. Upgrade all other nodes after that Of course outage is expected and can be planned upfront for couple hours. Is that order correct or not. Regards, -Tiho
With ubuntu 16 you have to use ispconfig 3.1 You can do the OS-Upgrade for all servers and update ispconfig afterwards (don't forget to let one slave update the permissions in the master-db) and install additional packages like certbot. Start with the master.
Thanks Florian. OK, 1. Upgrading all nodes to 16.4 2. Install additional packages on the nodes - not sure here (certbot for Letsencrypt), what's needed 3. Upgrade master node to ISPConfig 3.1 4. Upgrade the rest of the nodes to ISPConfig 3.1 5. "don't forget to let one slave update the permissions in the master-db" - can you please elaborate a bit more? I recall that there was one step in the upgrade process dealing with updating the permissions. Is this what you mean? Regards, -Tiho
