I just downloaded an vmware iso to install, it is a ubuntu 14.04 lts, the login and password i cannot find, can somebody please let me know what it is please. private message me thanks William
according to https://www.howtoforge.com/import_vmware_images it should be "howtoforge" and as seen in the comments, ubuntu doesn't allow root-login without changing config, so I'd try howtoforge/howtoforge ?
We changed the login names a few years ago and recent tutorials contain them in a chapter at the end that show the exact logins, but not the older guides like the one you have chosen from 2014. I will add a note to the vmware import guide which explains the possible alternative login names
I am a new supporter, so finding out the new updates over the years is impossible for me to know. But will take advice on the last post you gave me and i will try.
If it does not work, then please let me know. I will download and install the image here then and check out all passwords.
