cannot reply to attDOTnet user email with postfix

    I'm going nuts. I have a squirrel mail and IMAP account and I cannot reply to a att.net email yet in Gmail it is fine this is the first problem to really baffle me I can email the guy but never reply.

    this is my error:

    Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message

    550: 5.1.1 Invalid recipient at optinetDOTnet.
     
  2. Looking at error it appears you are sending email to some invalid receipent which is rejected by server.

    Yes, that is correct and the email gets delivered to the recipent (not the one listed here) HOWEVER, gmail does not throw up this error so it bothered me as to why my Postfix is doing so. But not to worry, i am over it now and it is working. Thank you for taking the time to help as I also feel that i may be wasting your time because the original email address is a gmail one and now upon reflection, i am thinking that gmail is able to detect that.
