Hello all, this topic as probably been discussed somewhere already, but I was not able to find an answer (although I really searched a lot). I would like to install ISPConfig in Google Cloud, just like I successfully did at another German cloud hosting provider. The installation runs fine, ISPConfig is accessible via port 8080, I could create a user and site in ISPConfig, establish FTP connection etc. I also pointed the domain to the external address, but still, I keep getting the Apache default page and not the index.html of the site. I tried to exchange the internal IP with the external IP within ISPConfig everywhere, but still, this has no effect. As I am not a real Linux specialist, can anyone help with a detailed description on what to do? Btw. I am using Debian 9 now but faced exactly the same issue with Ubuntu 16.04. Thanks in advance!
When the server is behind a router (the server has an internal IP configured locally only), then the internal Ip is the right one for the apache vhost. as an alternative, select *, then you don't have to choose an IP at all.
Thanks, Till, this helped. Looks like I'm making things too complicated sometimes, I selected the external IP instead of * in the site settings.
