Hello all, I am getting the following error when trying to open up Ubuntu in my VM Box Not in a hypervisor partition (HVP=0) (VERR_NEM_NOT_AVAILABLE). Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: ConsoleWrap Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed} AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS (or by the host OS) (VERR_SVM_DISABLED). any ideas what is going on? Thanks in advance. Hatch
Absolytely none. Please put the error message test in CODE tags so I can see which lines are error messages and which are written by you. Are you using some virtualization software like WMWare or Openbox? Mentioning these kinds of things gives some idea what is going on. Code: AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS If virtualization support is disabled and you want to use it, turn in on in BIOS.
" E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: ConsoleWrap Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed} AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS (or by the host OS) (VERR_SVM_DISABLED)." the above is the full error receiving.
Enable the virtualization if your CPU supports it in BIOS as said by @Taleman. If you don't its support, you cannot run VM.
