I'm currently running CentOS 4.3 and ISPconfig 2.2.6. I have read a few post regarding trouble when installing ISPconfig on CentOS 4.4. I was wondering if anyone had experience using yum to update from CentOS 4.3 to 4.4 without re-installing ISPconfig?
I haven't tried it, but if you want to go 100% sure you can make an image of your server before you try the update, and if it goes wrong you can restore the image: http://www.howtoforge.com/howto_linux_systemimager http://www.howtoforge.com/dedicated_server_backup_restore_systemimager
Sorry for the late reply. Seeing as this version of ISPConfig doesn't do what some earlier ones did... Take a look at: http://dev.dyslexification.com/ This will allow it to install on CentOS 4.4.
CentOS 4.4 will be officially supported in the next ISPConfig realease. I've added the nescessary patches to the stable SVN branch.
I get this error: # python ispconfig-centos44.py File "ispconfig-centos44.py", line 2 <pre> ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax
There is a easier solution to install on centos 4.4 then using a patch. 1) Make a backup of your /etc/redhat-release file. 2) Change the version numebr in the redhat-release file to 4.3 3) Install ISPConfig. 4) Restore the backup of your redhat release file.
