I just finished installing ispconfig for the second time because my server crashed about a week after I installed it the first time. I noticed the following errors when the installation completed. I'm guessing that the crash was because the ispconfig_tcpserver file and directory was not installed the first time either. I'm not sure because I didn't notice it the first time. I created the backup directory myself and gave it write permmissions. I assume this is for the webserver backups and is an empty folder. I also had to create a temp directory so that I could upload the webmail and phpmyadmin software through ispconfig. My concern is the missing ispconfig_tcpserver file which I assume is placed in the init.d folder and is started from there like ispconfig_server and that the main file should be in /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/tools/tcpserver. Is there anything that I can do without having to reinstall ispconfig again? Even if I do reinstall, I'm betting that I'll get the same errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have proftpd installed and it seems to work fine. Is the ispconfig_tcpserver file an ftp server file? Thanks for the response. Brian
ispconfig_tcpserver is needed only for vsftpd, not ProFTPd. Please make sure you selected ProFTPd under Management -> Server -> Settings -> FTP.
That's strange. I installed proftpd. ProFtpd was found during the install and I was asked if it was ok to use proftpd which I replied yes. vsftpd was never installed on my server and was not found during the install. I don't understand why I got that error.
