Just installed ispconfig on ubuntu 18.04 using the automated installer. Everything seems to work, except the mail. When trying to send mail using roundcube, it says: SMTP-error (-1): Connection with server failed.. The only errors i could find in log file /var/log/mail.log where: But when i check the status with service postfix status it says: So it runs? But ispconfig says its not running and sending mail with roundcube also says that it can't connect to smtp... So what is possibly wrong? How do i find out whats wrong... Greets, Hermes
Oke, removed the whitespace before -o and now error is gone. Yet smtp says its offline and now there are no errors left in mail.log about postfix. There are many complaining about amavis tough. But they probably have nothing to do with why smtp is down?
After a while this error did show up: Searching on google, i read somewhere to do this: postconf -n output: Which is line: -o syslog_name=postfix/submission <-- Happends without the spaces And with two spaces my old error is back: I did try to google, but there was nothing to find about this error...
Oke, i did a complete reinstall. Logged in, smtp was up. But after several minutes the warning appeared again: warning: /etc/postfix/master.cf: logical line must not start with whitespace: " -o syslog_name=postfix/submi..."
You have a typo in the master.cf file. Please attach the master.cf file to this thread (either as zip or txt file).
Which installer is that? You wrote in #1 about autointaller, which exactly? You have commented out SUbmission and SMTP lines. Compare to Perfect Server Guide. https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial...pd-bind-postfix-doveot-and-ispconfig/#g0.0.12
This is the installer i used. https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial/ispconfig-install-script-debian/ It is possible that i left the submission line commented. And forgot to uncomment again.
This script is not supported by us. Use the official autoinstaller instead: https://www.howtoforge.com/community/threads/ispconfig-3-autoinstaller.86078/ @till maybe we should take those guides offline.
Ah didn't know, but this official version of autoinstaller gives me a install error on ubuntu 18.0.4 and debian 10: I created another topic for this problem -> https://www.howtoforge.com/community/threads/autoinstaller-fails-installing-ispconfig.86590/
Do you have a AWS instance by any chance? It's a known bug for those: https://git.ispconfig.org/ispconfig/ispconfig-autoinstaller/-/issues/41 I hope to get to it this week.
There is a option to configure the vps to control quota.. But it doesn`t matter if its on or off. When i run mount command by hand it says permission denied.
