Hi. I have setup a new VPS with ispConfig 3. I have some questions about how to setup the server config. IP: I have set my ip xxx.xx.xx.xx Netmask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: ??? What should I have here? If I look at my server with "ip r" and "ip route" I get 172.31.1.1, but if i look in the /etc/resolv.conf I have 185.12.64.1 and 185.12.64.2 hostname: myserver.mydomain.com Nameservers: same.ip.as.ip,same.ip.as.ip So to my question.. What should I have as gateway? I have also checked the checkbox in top as I run Debian 10. Thanks.
Ask the VPS provider what network setup that host should have. It is impossible for this forum to know what gateway is used in your network. For nameservers you may get by with for example google name servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, but better would be nameserver of your VPS provider. Ask provider what are name server IP addresses. How can you have installed ISPConfig without a network connection that works?
Hi. I setup ispConfig from SSH and installed it with the guide "Perfect Setup Debian 10". Why should I use googles nameserver or my vps providers when I should host my own with Bind9 in ispConfig?
Why indeed. If you already have working nameservers, why not use them instead of asking here. Why bring up nameservers at all if your question in no way concerns them?
Do not touch these settings. Network config is disabled by default and shall stay disabled, enabling it would break your server. So the content of these fields does not matter at all.

OK; so I was totally off the mark here. I did not realize the question was about ISPConfig Panel | System | Server Config | Server tab settings. I have never needed to touch those so the original question got me confused. Sorry about my contribution.
Thanks for answer. It´s ok Taleman. I have one more question. I change nameserver at my domain provider to ns1.myserver.com, and ns2myserver.com. for the domain to the server myserver.com but I cant get that to work. I have some other domains I have setup in ispConfig as normal websites with dns etc and they work. I just cant get the domain for the server itself to work and I dont understand why..
That is not a useful problem description or error message. My signature has link to DNS setup tutorial, compare that to what you have done. The tutorial has instructions on troubleshooting dns problems, use those and post error messages here if problems do not get solved otherwise.
