Take a look into the error.log of the site and post a screenshot of the proxy settings you use. and test that accessing https://backend.bankajewellers.com without proxy works.

error log - client denied by server configuration: /var/www/backend.bankajewellers.com/web/index.php
when disabling proxy I am getting this error in browser.

This site can’t provide a secure connection
    backend.bankajewellers.com sent an invalid response.

    ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

note: I had php also disabled for the site. could this be the reason?
I had checked of lets encrypt once and checked again, so this part is working fine.
    ipv6 is also enabled.

    Hi Till,
it turns out, that it is my antivirus/inter security software -quickheal which is when installed - even a site added with no content(only standard_index.html) is treated as - not secured.
but existing https sites are just working fine.
when I remove quickheal, the https just works fine for new sites as well.
what could be the reason for that?
as in India there is quite good percentage of users using that antivirus.

Ask the company that provides this antivirus software why it does not work correctly.

You should learn to customize its settings, just like any other AV, because by default, AV settings normally are using the strictest rules.

    Hi ahrasis,
thanks for your suggestion, I am aware about that. but if the AV is giving alert as unsafe site or not secured site - then all users who are using the site will get that alert and abort using the site.

Sure, if they are all using the same AV and the settings are default, not changed / customized, as yours, so, I do not see any other ways to overcome that AV or any AVs default settings that is set to strictest value except by customizing that default settings.

I used to try various AVs for my Windows but at the end, I only use ClamWin and that never bother me to change any default settings that always warn me of the same, and I never have to change its or Windows default security settings.
