    I just installed ispconfig on Ubuntu. I set up my dns for my host name. I am trying to get to the url for phpmyadmin and it says this site can't be reached.

    I checked the firewall and it is allowing port 8081.

    Do you reach the server at all using the host name, e.g. the web server default page with http://yourhostname to ISPConfig GUI with https://yourhostname:8080 ? If not, then this is more a DNS setup problem for your hostname and not a problem to access phpmyadmin.

    I did the dns for my hostname as server.tibbettsinternet.com.

    I just checked and I can get to it with the ip address, but can't with the host name. It should work. I set up my a record for the host name. Is there anything else I have to do? In the /etc/hostname file it just server.

    I went on Google and did a lookup for the IP address of server.tibbettsinternet.net and it says it does not have an ip address. When I looked up tibbettsinternet.net it says it has an ip address. This is strange to me because I did the A record for the server a record.

    Code:
    $ LANG=C date ; host server.tibbettsinternet.net
    Sat Apr 22 19:59:34 EEST 2023
    Host server.tibbettsinternet.net not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

    did you create A records for your nameservers in your dns?
    did you create NS records for your nameservers in your dns?
    did you create glue records for your nameservers with your registrar?
