    Hi people,
A year has passed, and now time to setup ISPconfig correctly and host some sites.
First issue i'm having, according to the documentation you need a dedicated IP address per website you host for SSL?

"SSL: With this checkbox you can enable SSL for this web site. Please note that you can have
only one SSL web site per IP address, and it is not possible to use a wildcard (*) in the
    IP-Address field."

    But HostGator states:
Dedicated IP addresses used to be a necessity if you wanted to install an SSL certificate on your site. But, with changing technology it's no longer a requirement. Typically, if you are using a dedicated IP address this will be because you're using a dedicated web server

Is having a dedicated IP address still needed in 2023? My VPS hoster doesnt allow me to just keep buying IP4 address for each website. And SSL is really for a website.

No. And we actually use * for all our website, not the IP.

    Thanks for confirming this.

I just bought the manual for ISP Config, to support the product, but there is no documentation on using Let's Encrypt with ISPConfig.

Any good tutorials on that? I'm want to host 5 websites, properly, but don't have budget for paid certificates at the moment (Sites first need to grow)

This morning i double checked and saw that my website already had a Lets Encrypt certificate without doing any thing :)

Just needed to redirect http --> https

The manual is old but is still useful. You may find its updates better in here if not in tutorials.

There is no need for any tutorial in regard to Let's encrypt, all you have to do is to enable the Let's encrypt checkbox in website settings plus the SSL checkbox, so this would be a rather short guide as there is nothing else to do :). The only prerequisite that must be met is that the domain exists in DNS and points to your server, so that let's encrypt is able to verify the SSL cert by connecting to your server on port 80. If issuing LE cert fails, see here: https://forum.howtoforge.com/threads/lets-encrypt-error-faq.74179/

Hi Till, Yes i just noticed that, it's just marking the checkbox :) I was just overthinking it.

These certificates are 90 days valid, but they auto-renew?
