Hi I have installed The Perfect Server - Debian 10 (Buster) with Apache, BIND, Dovecot, PureFTPD and ISPConfig 3.2 https://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-debian-10-buster-apache-bind-dovecot-ispconfig-3-1/ however lately wordpress is saying i need to update my mariadb from 10.3 to 10.4 or higher. how can i do this? any tutorials?
You can upgrade your Debian to the latest supported version to enjoy higher MariaDB version (as well as other apps') that come with it. There should be a tutorial for upgrading Debian in the tutorial sections.
got it, so first i have to upgrade debian from 10 to 11 using this tutorial https://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-upgrade-from-debian-10-to-debian-11/ and then i can upgrade from 11 to 12 using the newer tutorial https://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-upgrade-from-debian-11-to-debian-12/ do i have to do anything else for ispconfig after the updates? or it will just work on its own?
Finally follow this one before you force update ISPConfig reconfiguring all services at the end: https://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-debian-12-buster-apache-bind-dovecot-ispconfig-3-2/
wow that was long and scary, but yes its works perfectly. thank you for any newbies like myself, during the update process it will ask you are you sure you want to override file so and so from your current version as your current version has been modified, i said yes so we got the new install and it works fine.
