Hello, maybe somebody can write a howto about creating a cluster? I want to make a 10PC Cluster for mathematical tasks and rendering (povray) Greetings
Have a look here: http://www.openssi.org/cgi-bin/view?page=openssi.html http://www.ram.org/computing/linux/linux_cluster.html http://openmosix.sourceforge.net/
I'm working on setting up an openMosix cluster myself. I'll write up a howto when it's done (3-5 days). spudchat
Would be very good.. Can you send me a PM with the howto when it´s finished? Because the admin must accept it to publish it and it takes a lot of time...
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I made somewhat a howto for making a cluster. I recycled 3 Pentium III motherboards and made an Openmosix cluster with them. Maybe you find it useful. I made an English version here: http://clushi.no-ip.org/index_en.html Sorry but I shutdown the server at night (Spanish local hour) so the web is not 24h. available. If you have any questions, sugerences or corrections for improving the page/howto, please let me know. Thanks.
Thanks for your tutorial.. It isnt like a HowTo because - you haven't described how to install openmosix - you haven't described how to add new nodes
Thanks for viewing it, and for your appreciations. What you say it's true, and I'll try to solve the second question: You can add another node just adding it to the network. The node must be configured to boot via ethernet (PXE) and the master will make its duty. Maybe if you use another type of motherboard, you will need to compile another kernel that suits it and configure master to give that kernel to that motherboard. It's all.
