I'am looking for tool to migrate websites, users, emails, databases etc. between my servers in multi-server setup. Existing tool does not fit for that. Of course there is no such tool available, maybe I could code one. Does anyone knows rough steps involved in moving data from one server to another?
Such a tool is already under development and nearly finished. It will be released at the end of Q1/2025.
will this be part of the migration toolkit, or separate? if it is part of the toolkit, will it also be available to those who already have a valid license for the toolkit? and do you want anyone to beta test it? i've got to copy a lot of clients/sites over between two webservers with the same ispconfig master server over the next month. i can't just use ispcopy on this one to effectively move the old server.. too many of the users have external dns that needs changing to be able to co-ordinate a single transfer time..
This will most likely be separate software, so it is not part of the Migration Toolkit. However, there will be some kind of rebate or bundle for those with a Migration Toolkit license. I will make a post in the dev forum section when there is a beta for testing. I have to move quite a few sites on my own systems too as I want to retire two old servers.
