Relay Domains Noob Question

    No, the installer can only be run on a fresh and empty system. The only thing that you can try is to install missing pieces by using one of the manual setup guides, install everything from email related chapters, like this one:

    https://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-debian-12-buster-apache-bind-dovecot-ispconfig-3-2/

    and then run "ispconfig_update.sh --force" and let the updater reconfigure services.

    Thanks, decided to just use this server as my db server and install a new mail one, easier.

    OK so I rebuilt everything from scratch, and a lot of errors are gone.
    However reference the above:
    1. I have added the domain and email account in, all good, working, can send and receive.
    2. BUT when i relay it to another server, surely I have to add it as a permitted domain on the other server? Where can I add this please? I cannot add the domain twice, once for each server, it doesn't allow me to.

    So I got this working now.
    I added a subdomain relay.mydomain.com onto the destination server, created a mailbox on that server and used for that auth. I had to add an mx for the subdomain also.
