Hi - Ive had this problem for a while now so thought I'd float it... If I add a new panel user with system/ remote users/ add new user, I am unable to then login with that user. Also not able to login as any users that got migrated with migration tool. Have tried several times to no avail. Just get the 'Username or Password wrong.' Have tried with my own and auto-generated passwords... The only login that works is 'admin'. I'm on ISPConfig 3.2.12p1 on Ubuntu 22.04LTS with PHP8.1 and mariadb 10.6.18 Help please
A user for the panel gets created when you add a client and you can set a new password for that user in the client details. Like @remkoh mentioned, remote users are not users to login to ISPConfig, they are for remote API endpoint authentication.
OK thanks for clarification. I wanted to setup an alternative user to admin to manage ISPConfig, and ideally I can then restrict the admin account to my specific IP - am getting a lot of sh*t bots poking around...
You can create a second admin account, but this has fewer privileges than the main one. You can create such a sub-admin account under system > CP users.
