How can I test a DNS setup?? I have setup a new domain name (pingreport.com) and set the name servers to my server (server1.drum-hosting.com) everything looks alright, but I'm getting 'unkown host' when I try to ping the new domain. Even when I ssh into the ispconfig server and try from there.
DNS propagation takes up to 48 hours, so you will have to wait some time. to test your local DNS server, use this command: dig @localhost yourdomain.com
It looks alright from what I can see, and executing the same on the secondary dns looks good aswell, so I guess it's a wait and see thing. The last few I've done, have been working within a couple of hours, I guess I've just been lucky. Ohwell wait and see time then.
