Hi. I have ISPConfig 3.2.12p1 on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS. I use it as a mail server (no websites, DNS, FTP, etc.). I have a second physical server and would like to get a backup mail server (in high availability scenario). What path should I take (I assume I need master-master replication) to achieve this? I have the Migration Toolkit that I bought for a previous migration between servers. I've already launched a second server with the same configuration - I haven't performed any configuration on it yet.
ISPConfig documentation page https://www.ispconfig.org/documentation/ has chapter "ISPConfig 3 in a Multiserver- and Cluster environment"
Hi again. My main server is running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with Nginx - ISPConfig was installed with an installer that took care of everything (clear installation). Than I used 'Migration toolkit' to move data from old server. Everything works good so far. I don't use DNS, WWW (apart from the ISPConfig interface), FTP etc. - I only use the mail server. Now I want to add a backup mail server (cluster). I set up a new server (slave) on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and did the initial configuration - network, UFW, SSH etc. The servers (master and slave) can communicate with each other as in tutorial. The cluster instructions include a point directed to Debian and different software. I'm not sure what else I need to install on my server as on master all was installed by ISPConfig installer? In my case I need to install: Nginx, MariaDB, Postfix, Dovecot, rspamd, and what else..? And then should go to point 5 (MySQL replication) and than install ISPConfig (point 6) from the installer taking into account the steps given in the instructions?
try this guide.. it uses the autoinstaller... https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial/ispconfig-multiserver-setup-debian-ubuntu it's for older versions of ubuntu/debian but should still be fine, just follow the instructions for the servers you need and skip those you don't.
