Running on hyper-v I'm using Ubuntu's Azure kernel. Today I updated to the latest 6.11.0-1012 version. After a reboot none of my NFS shares (running on a PetaSAN cluster) were mounting anymore. I had to revert to the previous 6.8.0 kernel to fix the problem. Does anybody have any clue/insight on what happened with the latest kernel and how I can update the kernel without losing my NFS mounts?
It sounds like the issue with your NFS mounts could be linked to changes in the 6.11.0-1012 kernel update. Since reverting to the previous kernel fixed the problem, it's possible that there were updates or changes in the kernel that affected the way NFS shares are handled. Kernel updates can sometimes introduce compatibility issues, especially if there's a mismatch between the NFS client and server configurations. To avoid running into this problem again when updating, you could check the kernel logs for any related errors, as they might point to a specific issue with NFS. Additionally, you could consider reinstalling NFS utilities or manually mounting the shares to see if that resolves the issue. If the problem persists, it might be worth waiting for a newer kernel update or contacting support for further assistance.
