Been having issues trying to logout while running VMware fusion on an old MacBook, keeps saying shut down failed. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
If host is not shot down cleanly, next boot it may need file system check. I suppose VMware has a way to do file system check at boot, but I know next to nothing about VMware. On hardware you would boot to maintenance mode and start fsck there.
That kind of logout issue often happens due to browser cache, session timeout settings, or conflicting cookies. Try clearing the cache and checking your session configuration in the server settings — that usually resolves it.
