Hi I have a new server Ubuntu 24.04, and followed below guide to install ISPConfig 3. https://www.howtoforge.com/ispconfig-autoinstall-debian-ubuntu When I typed "yes" in below process, I waited 1 hour, and nothing happend, no CPU loading and seems no installation running. No idea what is wrong. ---------------------------------------------- Type 'yes' if you really want to continue: yes [INFO] Starting perfect server setup for Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS [INFO] Checking hostname. [INFO] Configuring apt repositories. [INFO] Updating packages [INFO] Updated packages [INFO] Installing packages ssh, openssh-server, nano, vim-nox, lsb-release, apt-transport-https, ca-certificates, wget, git, gnupg, software-properties-common, curl, cron, ntp ping get.ispconfig.org (no problem) All firewall PORT open from cloud server Please what can I do? thanks
You must check why your server is slow when installing packages using apt. All the command does that takes you so long is: Code: apt-get install ssh openssh-server nano vim-nox lsb-release apt-transport-https ca-certificates wget git gnupg software-properties-common curl cron ntp So that's neither a connection to ispconfig.org nor something ISPConfig related, it's a simple standard apt command to install some packages.
I tested the command root@server1:~# apt-get install ssh openssh-server nano vim-nox lsb-release apt-transport-https ca-certificates wget git gnupg software-properties-common curl cron ntp Reading package lists... run auto installer again for both Ubuntu 24.04 and Ubuntu 22.04 to test, still having the same issue. stuck Installing packages ssh, openssh-server, nano, vim-nox, lsb-release, apt-transport-https, ca-certificates, wget, git, gnupg, software-properties-common, curl, cron, ntp
Made a test install and it works fine. But Ubuntu package installation is way slower than normal, maybe some Ubuntu repositories have issues. The auto installer has no influence on the speed the system is able to download and install packages, it just runs the apt command and waits until it is finished.
