Hi there, everyone! I was going to update my ISPC this morning but during the OS update, I realized my Debian install is a bit outdated(I received the following when trying to update: The repository 'http://ftp.debian.org/debian bullseye-backports Release' no longer has a Release file. and some searching resulted in the regular suggestion to update Debian. This leads me to my question. Would it be considered safe generally to do an OS update on an ISPC-configured Debian Bullseye install on a VPS or am I likely to run into a lot of errors and misconfigurations? It's been quite some time since I've done anything like this on my ISPC servers but I did have one instance where I had to hire someone on the forum to fix an issue that occurred during the upgrade process. I'd be very appreciative if anyone could let me know of the pitfalls and any best-practices that might get me up-to-date. Thanks for your time!
I would say it does not matter if you upgrade Debian on VPS or hardware host. Read release notes for the Debian version you are upgrading to: https://www.debian.org/releases/bookworm/releasenotes For example, chapter 4.2.3. states: Doing the upgrade is best done following https://www.howtoforge.com/update-the-ispconfig-perfect-server-from-debian-11-to-debian-12/
