Okay, now I am considering to run a small Cluster (a group of 2 or 3 VPS) for my coming postgresql servers. With reference to today's hardware price, I need to squeeze my cost to the lowest. So, I consider to buy several VPS built on OpenVZ. I heard that OpenVZ VPS is cheaper and faster than KVM VPS. Now, my questions are: Can I choose Ubuntu as the OpenVZ VPS's OS? Can I install Docker inside this OpenVZ VPS? Yours faithfully.
I think it depends a lot on the OpenVZ version and what is enabled by your VPS provider. So #1 answer - usually yes. However, #2 answer will depends on OpenVZ version, I think generally no for 6 and below because lack of many things, but usually yes for 7, if it is enabled by your VPS provider.
Yes, it is working and I using the latest 3.3.1p1 I think, but other related softwares must be updated via apt update after adding that Myguard repo keyring and its source. https://forum.howtoforge.com/thread...ard-apt-in-ispconfig3-nginx-web-server.95248/
