    One more thing, I've tried this in /home/ directory and also in /tmp , This is from the /tmp directory, and I have PHP 5.1.6 installed

    There must be some other error message before these ones. Please post all error messages.

    I'm having the same problem using Ubuntu 6.10 server install; there is an error message just before what irpr posted but not much:

    The weird thing is I did this before and it installed just fine; the only difference I can see is before I started with a typical desktop install and added LAMP/ISPConfig onto it, whereas this time I started (not by choice) with a fresh server install.

    ...why, oh why couldn't it have been the windows machine to die in the power outage?... :mad:

    Sorry

    Yeah, I posted this before finding the solution in another thread; sorry. Once I finally installed ISPConfig though I ran into another issue so don't be suprised if you see another post from me (after making sure the issue isn't posted elsewhere, of course) :(

    I need Help ASAP

    Got the same problems, but after this ispconfig dont detect an upgrade. So it warn me that some files vil be replaced. Will i lose all my settings?? (Help:eek:)

    Message i get after error problems (dont detect an upgrade)::
    With the system installation, some system files are replaced where adjustments were made. This can lead to loss of entries in httpd.conf, named.conf as well as in the Sendmail configuration.

    Running Suse 10

    Need to fix this ASAP? Could someone help me??

    What's the output of
    Code:
    ls -l /root
    and
    Code:
    ls -l /home
    ? Does your ISPConfig database still exist? Do you find backups of your installation in /tmp?

    You must install c++/g++ (see http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8402 ).

    Please run
    Code:
    yum search c++
    yum search g++
    and install the appropriate package.

    apt-get install build-essential

    I was able to fix that error message on my Ubuntu Box by doing

    apt-get install build-essential

    There's no backup, but /home/admispconfig and your ISPConfig database are still there. Please back them up, then run
    Code:
    mkdir /root/ispconfig
    and run the ISPConfig update again. This will fix it.

    Hi,
    By making the upgrade ISPCONFIG I had an error message too. The

    There must have been an error before the ones you posted. I need all error messages.

    What's the output of
    Code:
    ls -l /root/ispconfig
    and
    Code:
    ls -l /home/admispconfig
    ? Also, does your ISPConfig database still exist?

    As I mentioned above, it is a production server and I could not leave it thus. Then, I have to take again the installation of version 2.6 after " mkdir /root/ispconfig". and all has to function correctly: My data bases are presents and all functions again on the 2.6
    But, I nevertheless tested version 2.7 and it was always the failure.
    But I kept the messsages errors of the instalation of the 2.8.

    That's strange. Which distribution do you use? What's the output of
    Code:
    uname -m

    I followed the tutorial with copy and paste. Moreover, I
    installed several servers with this tutorial. What is strange, I
    have a server of test on which I make the installations before putting
    them on the server in production, and the update proceeded well on the
    server of test.

    I do not understand anything any more.
