    Hallo,

can somebody give a quick response - I am installing RoundCube Webmail and can't find the path to this file: main.inc.php

Please, be quick with your response, it must be very simple.

    Thanks, Vladimir

    FILE main.inc.php is been removed

    Hallo,

it is quit frustrating to do what Hans is asking in his description of instalation RoundCube Webmail. In Step 5 is he asking to remove main.inc.php file and few line forward is he asking to modify this file.

Probably he ment to remove (rename) .dist of the end or is somewhere else an other main.inc.php file ?

    Thanks for replay, Vladimir

Last time i had to change some things within my RoundCube howto, because we found out that there where some problems with saving identities within RoundCube.
For this reason i had to modify step 5 within this howto as well, but i completely forgot to do that.
Sorry, but now i have changed the text.

To save some time, you can download my main.inc.php file here:

The location of the main.inc.php file is in your RoundCube webspace: /web/config/

    Login doesn't work

    Hallo Hans,

Following your instructions I have installed now RoundCube on Debian kernel 2.26 Sarge1 and ISPConfig 2.2.7 and averything seems to be o.k. in db.inc.php and main.inc.php but the login stays hanging without any messages at all.

Probably it is not possible to log in as localhost. What do you think about this issue.

    Thanks, Vladimir

    This could be the reason:
If you are using the Maildir format on your server, you have to enable Maildir within ISPConfig under Management > Settings > Email

Send an email to the account which you want to use within RoundCube.
Then, try to login into RoundCube.
(The Maildir is created after receiving the first e-mail).

Remember you only can login with username and not with [email protected].

After your first login, you should setup you identities for your mailaccount by changing @localhost to the domain you want and which is hosted on your server.

    Maildir

    Hallo Hans,

there is allready a Maildir in this web. The problem is somewhere else. Also I posted an email and it is received in this Maildir.

But now an other complication is erising. At this moment I have 2 accounts. One emailaccount on hostname and the other one on webmail.hostname. I like to use the same accont for webmail as wel for Outlook. It is probably possible to change the settings in db.inc.php in order to use the same account for both of them.

    Thanks, Vladimir

    Step by step please...

Are you able to login into RoundCube already?
If not: did you remove the .htaccess file within your RoundCube /web ?

I have done it, following the instructions rm .htaccess but it doesn't works. Probably was the filename not correct. Is your name correct? rm .htaccessfile ?

The .htaccess file provided by RoundCube is within your /web by default but is not vissible.

The correct file name is: .htaccess

Within ISPConfig you can define an emailaddress like [email protected].
You also define a username and password for the created e-mailaddress.

To login into RoundCube you have to login with username and password NOT with alias and password.
    That does not work.

    Maybe this might help you..
