I have 2 domains domain1.com, you-cant-get-my-personal.info I have a catch all on my domain2.info domain and that is catching all mail for the domain domain1.com i did find an FAQ when searching the forum but that mentions to check /etc/postfix/main.cf for $mydomain Thanks in advance James
Please have a look at this FAQ entry: http://www.howtoforge.com/faq/9_33_en.html Is this line commented out? If not, ISPConfig is not properly installed on your server.
Yes the line is commented out in my /etc/postfix/main.cf i dont have $mydomain are you saying i need to add that and put in $mydomain = www.domain.com and everytime i add a new domain via ispconfig i need to edit this file ? thank you for your help James Forward Message
No. ISPConfig adds the domains automatically to the file /etc/postfix/local-host-names. You must add the variable $mydomain = server.domain.com in myin.cf and this domain that you use there may NOT be used for a ISPConfig website as described in the FAQ, otherwise you get the catchall problem that you described.
Ok I have removed, the website (DNS still remains) so now I have added another domain and created a catch-all email account but now when i send email [email protected] i get a bounce back saying <[email protected]> (expanded from <[email protected]>): mail for cant-get-my-personal.info loops back to myself i must be missing a step thanks in advance
Please add you-cant-get-my-personal.info at the end of /etc/postfix/local-host-names and restart Postfix.
