every time i make a DNS chage bind wont start I have to sudo vi /etc/bind/named.conf and remove one of the dupes below, Any one know the reason why I have to do this ? Tks ! HoopsX3
Im prety sure I didnt as I dont know where it is I will take a look If you can tell me where it is Thanks, HoopsX3
Did you create a DNS record with the IP address 127.0.0.1? Please remove it. Nobody will be able to connect to your system if you use 127.0.0.1 (=localhost) for your DNS records.
Falco, Thanks, Yesterday I deleted the 2nd duplicate entry on a hunch, turns out that if I delete only the 1st dup bind crashes ? The only diff between the two entries was a LF under the one it didnt like... Anyway, since I deleted the 2nd entry bind has not gone down, and the 127.0.0.1 ip was in the dns, but I have been using zoneedit to manage the dns untill I get bind and DNS figured out. Thanks, HoopsX3
same problem here If I delete it out of the named.conf it returns after changing something in ISPconfig. I have a 127.0.0.1 localhost for every .nl domain (it's mandatory if I register domain at dutch SIDN) I think something went wrong with creating a domain. I could not make a mail A record for a domain so I made a mail2 it started also to complain about that it already exists. greets Raymond\ RayIT
problem solved!! thanks to sirion uncomment the lines and change something in dns with ispconfig.... edited /root/ispconfig/isp/confnamed.conf.master and removed the 127.***
