postfix help

    hey i have a problem, my problem is this, i can connect to my mail server useing microsoft outlook and everything goes good in the connection and sync. of mail but when i try to send the mail to test that everything is working right i get an error reporting that relay access is denied to the recipient. can anyone help me get this working right?

    You must enable "Server requires authentication." in your Outlook settings.

    ok so i just enabled "Server requires authentication." in Outlook but now i have a new problem, the server cant seem to authenticate the account :( it just asks for a user name and password.

    Do you use the correct username and password? The username should look like web1_someuser or similar. Make sure you don't mix up email users and ISPConfig users (admin, resellers, clients).

    yes i am useing the correct username, the problem has nothin to do with ISPConfig thats why it is under the Linux section instead of the ISPConfig section, the account i am useing is a real user account and not a virtual user account, it is the account i created when i install the OS onto the system. I looked into the log files to see if it would give me any ideas of what could be wrong because when i told outlook to use authentication it just asked me for my user name and password and wouldnt accept what i typed in, the log says it cant find saslauthd which i did install. might have to symlink :( only if i knew where the right file is :p

    What's the exact error message from the mail log? Which distribution do you use?

    I got it fixed, i switched everything
