I am trying to setup the Linux Spam Filter Gateway using the tools as specified on the site. I am having a problem getting yum to update and getting perl to obtain the necessary perl modules that it needs from within the proxy. Does anyone have any experience with MS Proxy 2.0 as far as how to allow the fedora to gain access to the web? Do I need to add the hostname or IP address of the machine to the proxy settings somewhere? Thanks! Ray
MS Proxy 2.0 and Fedora Core Yes. If there is no proxy statement, as per the fedora core site, the response I get when I perform "yum install updates is": Loading "installonlyn" plugin Setting up Install Process Setting up repositories Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=updates-released-fc6&arch=i386 error was [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-2, 'Name or service not known')> Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: updates Any idea's?
Maybe these links help you: http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=742 http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/yum/sn-yum-proxy-server.html http://guruj.net/node/9
yum and MS Proxy Thanks. The fedoraforums info is outdated due to Yum not working with NTLM authentication so I am looking at the other site which has a server that might work. I will keep you posted.
