I am running win2k and would like to install Mandriva as described by Falko from the 4 CDs, but retain my present OS. How much disk space do I have to set aside for the full new installation. Do I partition the installation as a second primary partition? Do I need a boot manager for dual boot capability? Thanks!
Do you want to install it as a server or a desktop? I think 10 GB are the minimum. The boot manager will be installed by Mandriva (usually GRUB or lilo).
It installed fine on a 4G hard drive, but it was an old machine with only 128M of RAM so no graphic windows. No windows manager. Going to try Xubuntu Alternate Install CD.. Thx. christy
