Could some one please tell me if I am to use my gateway IP, internal IP as in the IP address that my server is on or my real external IP address?

    Thanks,

Do you use a "external" router or is your server the router?

I have an external linksys cable modem and linksys hardware firewall router with build in DDNS support and a fully qualified domain name registered with dynds.org with a complete and fully edited A record. Also all the correct ports forewarded to the IP of the machine the server is on.

Your domain name must point to your router's public IP address, but in your Apache configuration you must use one of the IP addresses that are listed in the output of
    Code:
    ifconfig
