is it possible to use webmail and pop3 simultaneous. if yes then i have a little problem, i can login on webmail and send and receive mails, but i try with thunderbird and it says: Sending password did not succeed. Mail Server www.blabla.com responded: Login failed. Quick
Yes. Uebimiau Webmail is a normal POP3 client. Have you configured SMTP-Auth? Have you set your Email client to use smtp-Auth for sending mails? What is the error message in the mail log?
the log file here is the logfile first a sent message from kmail. Then login for that user on uebimiau and read the message, then a failed attempt to login by the same user with kmail and thunderbird. kmail said: Could not login to www.server1.com. The password may be wrong. The server said: "Login failed." thunderbird says something sending of password did not succed any suggestions quick Aug 8 00:45:16 www postfix/local[16614]: 1DF551D340: to=<[email protected]>, orig_to=<admispconfig@localhost>, relay=local, delay=0, status=sent (delivered to command: /usr/bin/procmail -f-) Aug 8 00:45:16 www postfix/qmgr[15314]: 1DF551D340: removed Aug 8 00:45:17 www postfix/local[16591]: BD3F91D33D: to=<[email protected]>, orig_to=<[email protected]>, relay=local, delay=2, status=sent (delivered to command: /usr/bin/procmail -f-) Aug 8 00:45:17 www postfix/qmgr[15314]: BD3F91D33D: removed Aug 8 00:45:25 www pop3d: Connection, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1] Aug 8 00:45:25 www pop3d: LOGIN, user=web1_user, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1] Aug 8 00:45:25 www pop3d: LOGOUT, user=web1_user, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1], top=21199, retr=0 Aug 8 00:47:23 www pop3d: Connection, ip=[::ffff:196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:47:28 www pop3d: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[::ffff:196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:47:28 www pop3d: LOGOUT, ip=[::ffff:196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:47:48 www postfix/smtpd[16851]: connect from www.server1.com[196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:47:48 www postfix/smtpd[16851]: setting up TLS connection from www.server1.com[196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:47:48 www postfix/smtpd[16851]: TLS connection established from www.server1.com[196.94.156.24]: TLSv1 with cipher RC4-MD5 (128/128 bits) Aug 8 00:47:48 www postfix/smtpd[16851]: 67EA11D330: client=www.server1.com[196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:47:48 www postfix/cleanup[16853]: 67EA11D330: message-id=<[email protected]> Aug 8 00:47:48 www postfix/qmgr[15314]: 67EA11D330: from=<[email protected]>, size=634, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Aug 8 00:47:48 www postfix/smtpd[16851]: disconnect from www.server1.com[196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:47:49 www postfix/pickup[15312]: 5D5231D31F: uid=10004 from=<web1_user> Aug 8 00:47:49 www postfix/cleanup[16853]: 5D5231D31F: message-id=<[email protected]> Aug 8 00:47:49 www postfix/qmgr[15314]: 5D5231D31F: from=<[email protected]>, size=384, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Aug 8 00:47:49 www postfix/local[16877]: 5D5231D31F: to=<[email protected]>, orig_to=<admispconfig@localhost>, relay=local, delay=0, status=sent (delivered to command: /usr/bin/procmail -f-) Aug 8 00:47:49 www postfix/qmgr[15314]: 5D5231D31F: removed Aug 8 00:47:51 www postfix/local[16854]: 67EA11D330: to=<[email protected]>, orig_to=<[email protected]>, relay=local, delay=3, status=sent (delivered to command: /usr/bin/procmail -f-) Aug 8 00:47:51 www postfix/qmgr[15314]: 67EA11D330: removed Aug 8 00:48:01 www pop3d: Connection, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1] Aug 8 00:48:01 www pop3d: LOGIN, user=web1_user, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1] Aug 8 00:48:02 www pop3d: LOGOUT, user=web1_user, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1], top=22125, retr=0 Aug 8 00:48:07 www pop3d: Connection, ip=[::ffff:196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:48:12 www pop3d: Connection, ip=[::ffff:196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:48:12 www pop3d: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[::ffff:196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:48:17 www pop3d: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[::ffff:196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:48:17 www pop3d: LOGOUT, ip=[::ffff:196.94.156.24] Aug 8 00:48:23 www pop3d: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[::ffff:196.94.156.24]
Do you use Maildir or mbox? For example, if you chose Maildir in ISPConfig, then do you use a POP3 daemon that uses Maildir as well? Because if you use a POP3 daemon that's made for mbox, then you will have no success...
Maidir or Mbox Well, i did the std install for SuSE 9.2. After installing Courier, i edited postfix main.cf with both of those two extra commands referring maildir and restarted postfix. Could it be as simple as the port is not open, i had to open the port 995 manually in my router for webmail??? Quick
ports Yes it runs and well to, but cant fetch mails from outside, i was fiddeling with the ftp access with Filezilla and cant get it to either, something i did wrong with the authentication maybe, i can still use the web-ftp tool and it works good, but not the ftp-client... Quick
Maybe your ftp problem is related to this thread: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196&page=1&pp=10
