Hello, I just set up a new ISPconfig server using Mandriva 2007 Spring and we are having some email problems. The email seems to be stuck in the Maildir/new and will not progress from that point. The check for Maildir is turned on. There are messages in the Maildir/new directory under /var/www/... You cannot get the emails using any email client or webmail interface. Any help would be great! Thanks
what kind of errors are you getting in your maillog (usually under /var/logs and may be called maillog or mail.log)
When the email is delivered to Maildir/new, then the mail delivery workd which means that your email system is working properly. Have you tried to remove the maildir checkbox and sent a new email? the maildir checkbox must be only enabled if you use courier or dovecot as pop3 server.
The mail logs show successful deliveries. The email is just not being fetched from the server. We took the maildir off and now we are getting bounced emails. The message states: This is the mail system at host mail.rytech.ca. HTML: I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below. For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster. If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message. The mail system <[email protected]> (expanded from <[email protected]>): service unavailable. Command output: ==================== QUOTA: 0 /bin/sh: line 2: -oi: command not found INBOXSIZE: 0 Bouncing (inbox already full!) I read something where you can't have any emails on the system when you change this checkbox. Should we have courier or dovecot installed? I have a client getting very frustrated with this. Can i manually move the mail to a directory so they can at least get some of their emails?
Do you have the quota program installed as described in the perfect setup guide? Have you set the mailbox quota of the user and the web quota of the user to values > 0 ?
