I followed perfect setup and then installed ispconfig on http.

I have set up my server bfs06.bfs.uk.com. I have tried domain b-f-s.co.uk. I have sent an email to [email protected]. I have domain www.b-f-s.co.uk and codomain b-f-s.co.uk.

Everything is working except email. I have never been able to log into any email account. I sent a test email from [email protected] to [email protected]

Did you enable the Maildir format within ISPCOnfig under Management > Server > Settings > Email?

The Maildir for the user will created when the first mail arrives.
Please try to send a message to that address and try to login afterwards.

Probably, you need to open your port number 143 within the firewall settings in ISPCOnfig under Management > Server > services > Firewall.

I suggest to open a telnet session from your local desktop to your server

    The commands are:

    telnet <IP-address> 143

On your server itself, i would like to see the output of:

    netstat -tap | grep imap

    Imap

    Login from my client failed.

    Output
    netstat -tap | grep imap
    tcp6 0 0 *:imaps *:* LISTEN
    tcp6 0 0 *:imap2 *:* LISTEN
    tcp6 0 0 bfs06.bfs.uk.com:imap2 ::ffff:192.168.33.:1882 TIME_WAIT

IMAP is listening but you can't establish a connection from outside.

Is your server behind a router? If so, you should check if the portforwarding for port 143 has been set up in the correct way.
