Is there anybody who installed a LAMP server on a EBOX http://www.wdlsystems.com/ebox/ebox.shtml And can you tell me what distribution you have used.
Does the system have an USB port? If so, you could connect an external CD-ROM drive to it, insert a Linux CD, and boot from it.
Oke but what i only need is a LAMP server on this box, and because off the small hardware as simple as posible. So what linux version will be the best. I tried to install: Mandriva, ubuntu and xubuntu, but they all have problem with the installation. Installation starts, but after unpacking kernel the system hangs. A simple DSL works on this system. But the DAMM SMALL LINUX doesn't have averything i need.
I recommend to use DEBIAN. Just follow the perfect setup guide for debian and you get a system with all services needed but without a X system which will slow down your server.
