I use F7 on my servers, which are all behind a firewall. I want to use XDMCP to log in. I am not concerned about security so ssh is not needed.(I am the only user) I can't figure out how to do basic setup. I use KDE only. I am using xdm not gdm. I can't seem to get the serverside set up, as I cannot see it from and client F7 boxes using the XDMCP login. (I also want to login via cygwin on my winbox...)

    Thank you.

Well, I figured it out finally

It seems that all the tutorials out there fail to tell you of a little program called gdmsetup

it does everything automatically. I don't know why people don't mention it when you post "solutions" :p

Basically, all you have to do is setup the system the way you want with a normal monitor, add users as needed, then run gdmsetup to enable XDMCP with you needed options. Then you can get rid of the monitor. It works great for me!
