I try to use the remastersys how to. everything went well and i create the live cd from my Mint 4.0. but when i use the live cd i can't find the root password. the second problem is that the Mint starts with the default settings (wallpaper, icons, etc). can i change that. thank you and sorry for my english.
There's no root password on the Live-CD. You can change the appearance on your desktop system before you create the iso, but make sure that these changes are global andn ot just for one user because the user settings won't be included in the iso image.
when you say "there is no password" you mean that when it asks you for the root password you press "ok"? I try this and nothing. On the window that asks you for the password I press "ok", the window disappears and nothing..............
the live cd starts correctly but when par example I try to open the synaptic asks me the password. when you tested it, it worked perfect? anyway thanks for your time
I haven't tried synaptic on the Live-CD because I usually use the Live-CD just for installing a system. Don't know if this link helps: http://linuxmint.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5708
