Greetings, all. It's been a while since I've posted here. Yes, I am running an old version of ISPConfig. Management policies don't allow me to upgrade currently. One of my hosting customers serves up his web pages and DNS using ISPConfig. His e-mail, though, is handled by his own mail server off my network. I have no problem setting up his MX records such that mail from outside gets sent directly to his mail server. However, we've got a problem with e-mail generated by the ISPConfig server itself (like e-mails generated by web forms on the ISPConfig server). Since the customer's domain is written into /etc/postfix/local-host-names, ISPConfig tries to deliver all of this customer's e-mail locally. I can adjust the postfix config files to get mail for this domain relayed properly to their server, but ISPConfig wants to rewrite those config files. How can I tell ISPConfig to accept mail for mycustomer.com but not try to deliver locally to mycustomer.com users, in a way that ISPConfig will remember?
Oh man, that is embarrassing! I've been running ISPConfig for what, 3 years now? I and my webmaster have been spending hours using ISPConfig's web interface, and would you believe we've never explored the CoDomains tab under the client settings? Or if we did, it was so long ago that we forgot about it? Thanks for pointing that out. A simple one-minute click through the settings fixed us up.
