    Hi all,

One of my servers is giving me an error:degraded on unit #0

I guess it's time to change the HDD.

Anyone here who knows how to do this? Do I just pull out the bad HDD, and add the new one, or do I 1st need to do some other things?

The server has 2 HDD's in RAID1 mode.
    I'm using a 3Ware 8006-2LP model in this server.

If you pick up a SATA2 hard drive, set the speed to SATA 1 (Seagate uses a jumper, Hitachi has a software tool, etc..). Connect the drive to the controller and boot the machine. Press alt-3 to get into the 3ware BIOS. Add the drive to the array and do a rebuild. After the rebuild completes your RAID 1 parity will be back to normal.

    Hope that helps!
