I got ahead of myself and changed some of the permissions on several folders. After that I lost the ability to login to the ISPConfig panel with 500 internal error. I have done stuff like this before but had backups. It seems that emails that were to be sent out about the backups did not. I did not discover this until tonight. My questions is what are the owner, groups and users on the following folders as well as permissions? /var /www /www/clients /usr/local/ispconfig I am running ubuntu 18.04 and ISPConfig 3.1.15p2.
Every webfolder is owned by the user webID and group clientID So if web 40 would belong to client 18 it would be web40:client18 I ran ls -la /usr/local/ispconfig for you, it gave me: /usr/local/ispconfig/interface ispconfig:ispconfig /usr/local/ispconfig/security root:ispconfig /usr/local/ispconfig/server root:root
This is from Debian 10, but probably the same as Ubuntu: Code: # ls -ld /var/ /var/www/ /var/www/clients/ /usr/local/ispconfig/ drwxr-sr-x 5 root root 4096 Sep 18 15:36 /usr/local/ispconfig/ drwxr-xr-x 14 root root 4096 Jul 12 2018 /var/ drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 Jan 16 10:17 /var/www/ drwxr-xr-x 20 root root 4096 Jan 16 10:17 /var/www/clients/
