I follow the perfect server for centos 8 and for some reason pure-ftpd wont start. now /var/run is just fine its writable, other pid files are in it, but something is not creating the pid?? odd...
some enlightement its to do with TLS - when I comment that back out (not TLS 1) pure-ftpd restarts fine
more fun and games on the new (rocky8 ) server. clamav in maillog says its cant find the sock: Feb 4 09:50:26 localhost amavis[228734]: (228734-01) (!)connect to /var/run/clamd.amavisd/clamd.sock failed, attempt #1: Can't connect to a UNIX socket /var/run/clamd.amavisd/clamd.sock: No such file or directory however - from list-units and netstat: [root@localhost clamd.d]# systemctl list-units --type=service | grep clam [email protected] loaded active running clamd scanner (amavisd) daemon freshclam.service loaded active running ClamAV Scanner [root@localhost clamd.d]# netstat -ntap | grep 10023 tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:10023 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 73667/postgrey --in tcp6 0 0 ::1:10023 :::* LISTEN 73667/postgrey --in and in the config file /etc/clamd.d/amavisd.conf my last line is: LocalSocket /var/spool/amavisd/clamd.sock so how is it looking in /var/run/clamd.amavisd/clamd.sock? I notice on another centos 8 system where mail is flowing properly the last line of that amavisd.conf file was not changed and is still LocalSocket /run/clamd.amavisd/clamd.sock so why on earth is amavisd not reading the different localsocket value? I'm confused this morning! thanks till
