Hello, some days ago i updated ispconfig to 3.2.11 and activated 2FA for admin user, but i´m receiving this error in logs. postfix/submission/smtpd[263200]: warning: localhost[127.0.0.1]: SASL LOGIN authentication failed: UGFzc3dvcmQ6 postfix/submission/smtpd[263200]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from localhost[127.0.0.1]: 554 5.7.1 <localhost[127.0.0.1]>: Client host rejected: Access denied; from=<[email protected]> to=<[email protected]> proto=SMTP helo=<my.mailserver.es> postfix/submission/smtpd[263200]: warning: non-SMTP command from localhost[127.0.0.1]: Subject: =?UTF-8?B?SVNQQ29uZmlnIExvZ2luIGF1dGhlbnRpY2F0aW9u?= postfix/submission/smtpd[263200]: disconnect from localhost[127.0.0.1] helo=2 starttls=1 auth=0/1 mail=1 rcpt=0/1 data=0/1 unknown=0/1 commands=4/8 This message appears everytime the 2FA appears or resend the code email. The system is sending the 2fa code from an email address to the same email address, i don´t know (but i pressume) this can be the cause of the issue but i haven´t found in ispconfig where link the system admin user (i activate for him the 2fa) with the email to receive the codes, at this point i´m confusedd, or do i have to select one regular user and elevate to admin and activate the 2fa due to admin account haven´t an email address?. Any help is appreciated? Thank you!
I never tried this 2FA thing so I am curious too, though I am little bit confuse of your activating it for other (admin) user. My understanding of such system is, you activate it yourself, if you choose too. Well, github force us to use it though but still we have to activate it ourselves.
Your problem is that ISPConfig is not able to send emails because email sending settings under System > interface > main config are not correct. Seems as if you told the system there to send via port 587 but you did not set a valid smtp user and password there, which are required for port 587. When you use port 25, then you can send without authentication. Each user can decide on his own if he wants to use 2FA or not, this is nothing the admin does or has to do for the users. The user can enable it on the same settings page where he can change is password.
Thank you very much for the quickly response, of course completely was my fault, under System > interface > Mail > Admin email & pass were wrong due i changed credentials a days ago (reason it stopped to work), and i had forgot this part of the ispconfig application to update values. So sorry for despite and thanks for your time. Regards.
