How do I get to view folders and files on this server? I've just installed Fedora 8 and the server runs on Windows Server 2003. Using Konqueror on my KDE desktop, I can access a generally accessible page on the server by posting an URL. (It's a LAN server.)

What baffles me is that Fedora doesn't offer Places in a menu like Ubuntu or My Network Places like Win XP. Not being one to avoid command line answers, I'll appreciate any help I can get.

    Please type something like
    Code:
    \\192.168.0.2
in Konqueror's address bar, where 192.168.0.2 is the IP of the Windows server. But I think there's an option somewhere in Konqueror's menu that allows you to browse the network.

    falko, vielen dank!
i tried it and it works like a bomb! http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

    \\192.168.0.2 gave this result:
smb://[email protected]/ was the URL that then loaded and a view of the folders on the server came up. putting an smb command straight in konqueror's browser hadn't worked eg. smb:/ instantly gave a server timeout error.
