I've an already running system with ispconfig, now i want to add a second server to make secondary dns server, like described here http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-run-your-own-dns-servers-primary-and-secondary-with-ispconfig-3-debian-squeeze After configuring the second node, all the existing zone on the primary will be automatically transfered to the second, or the is a particular procedure to do so? Thank you for response
The secondary node has no ispconfig interface when you followed the guide, so you could have done this only on the primary node. If you would login to the interface of the secondary node, then all actions that you do there will cause a conflict with the primary and the replication between the servers will get stopped.
Ok perfect. So if i want to add a second node to replicate services like DNS, postfix, and apache for some sites, i cant follow that guide. I've to do something like http://www.howtoforge.com/multiserver-setup-with-dedicated-web-email-dns-and-mysql-database-servers-on-debian-squeeze-with-ispconfig-3 And in case of DNS i've to add manualy the zones on the slave server, right?
For DNS: Yes. For apache and mail: No If you want to setup a cluster that replicates all services, then this has to be done before you add the first website or mail domain on the server. Such a setup is described here: http://www.howtoforge.com/installin...tabase-cluster-on-debian-6.0-with-ispconfig-3 No. All you have to do is to select under System > server services that the secondary server is a mirror of the first server and then run the resync tool.
