Hi, I am looking at adding server side mail filtering to my ISPConfig setup for some or all of my users. I've done some reading and I wanted to run this by everyone for input. If I follow the HowTo: http://www.howtoforge.com/virtual-users-domains-postfix-courier-mysql-squirrelmail-ubuntu8.10 I think that will do the trick, but ... How will this affect my ISPConfig configurations? Can I begin with Page 3 of the howto in order to get amivsd installed and configured? Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that I will be moving to ISPConfig 3 and may wait until that move to implement this functionality. Thanks, Danté
The tutorial you used is completely incompatible with ispconfig 2 and 3. If you installed this already, the best is to format your server and reinstall it the according to the perfect setup guide if you want to use ispconfig 2 or to the ispconfig 3 installation instructions if you want to use ispconfig 3.
I haven't executed the tutorial, but was looking into ways to implement server-side imap mail filtering. You confirmed what I thougth about it not being compatible with ISPConfig and Perfect Server setup. So, I guess the question is, "Is there a way to setup server-side mail filters when using ISPConfig 2 or 3"? Thanks, Danté
ISPconfig 2: You can write custom procmail filter scripts which have to be placed in the home directory of the mail user. ISPConfig 3: Server side mail filtering is implemented in the ISPConfig interface.
