    Hi guys,

I would like your opinion on the following idea.
How about adding 1 or 2 Sub-Forums to "HowtoForge Forums | HowtoForge - Linux Howtos and Tutorials > ISPConfig 3" to tidy up the forums?
To me it seams to be a good idea to add maybe

    > Plugins/Modules/Addons (thread for specific projects only)
    > Problems/Help

    More ideas?

    What do you think?

    @Till:

Dont you think that the ISPConfig 3 forum could need some more moderation? Your response to all kind of problems and ideas is remarkable but a lot of threads need to be closed and marked solved (and can be summarized for docs.ispconfig.org).
Maybe some rules need to be posted. e.g. for title-prefixes

The "Problems/Help" might be no good idea but a "Plugins/Modules/Addons" subforum would be good.

I hereby volunteer for a moderator post :)

    Hi Christian,

I agree with you that we should have a additional forum for Addons. I will add it in the next days.

I'am not quite sure if it is nescessary to close threads. This causes often PM's to me and the other moderators like "I cant post to ....".

To add some forum rules might be good. But I'am not sure if users will read and obey them.

The rules should be very basic and short.
    Some things like:
    - use the search before posting a new problem
    - Use prefixes + list of recommended prefixes (like [frontend] in dev-subforum)
    - questions about backend problems should contain OS, daemon + version, etc

If closing produces problems then threads should be prefixed [SOLVED] after a problem is resolved. If the problem is in some way generic and a complete solution is provided an article should be created on docs.ispconfig.org and a link to the problem should be posted at the end of the solved thread.

Normal users can not change the title of a thread am I right?

I've added the enw subforum today.

As far as I know, normal users can change the subject.

I do not see how.

Maybe we can find some usable forum rules in a team effort: https://www.mindmeister.com/180553503

Mindmap is "free4all". Lets see if that works.
