Greetings, I've had a Ubuntu 8.10 perfect server up and running for some time now and love it. Thank you Falko! Recently the E-mail shutdown due to the ClamAV issue. So I had an extra computer sitting in the basement and built a shiny new Ubuntu 9.10 server. My E-mail is being received on the 9.10 server and my web sites are still on the 8.10. Is there any huge advantages in upgrading the 8.10 to 9.10 to host my sites? Thanks
With any upgrades usually comes performance and security upgrades, so you can't go wrong. If it's just serving up websites, it shouldn't break anything, and even if it did, reconfiguring should be nice and easy.
What the hell are you talking about? Beta version? 9.10. As in it came out October, 2009, 6 months ago. Not exactly a beta.
